Frequently asked questions
How does booking work?
You find a boat and week on Where we sailing?, add your crew, and book. We collect the deposit — split across your group — to secure the boat, then confirm the charter with the independent company that operates it. The charter agreement and the remaining balance are with that operator; we set it all up and support you throughout.
What does the price mean — is it per person?
Yes. Prices are shown per person, per night, so you can compare boats fairly and know your own share at a glance. Tap any boat to see the full breakdown — the whole-boat charter fee, how it splits across your crew, and the extras.
How does splitting the cost work?
You add your crew and decide who sleeps where, and everyone pays their own share of the deposit directly — no single person fronting the whole amount and chasing friends afterwards. The boat is only secured once everyone's share is in.
When do I pay, and who to?
You pay your share of the deposit through us to secure the booking. The balance is paid closer to departure under the operator's terms. We use secure card processing and only capture the deposit once the whole group has paid.
What dates can I pick?
Charters run Saturday to Saturday, in seven-night weeks — that's how the boats turn around. Pick your check-in Saturday in the calendar (unavailable weeks are greyed out); you can also select multiple weeks back-to-back.
Bareboat vs. crewed — what's the difference?
Bareboat means you charter the boat and sail it yourself (a qualified skipper aboard is required, or you can add one). Crewed means a professional crew — typically a skipper, and often a host or cook — comes with the boat.
Do I need a sailing licence?
For a bareboat charter, the operator requires a recognised skipper qualification and usually a sailing résumé (and often a second competent crew member). No licence is needed for a crewed charter, or if you add a professional skipper at checkout.
What's included in the price, and what's extra?
The headline is the bareboat charter for the week, split per person. Extras — the security deposit, an APA / provisioning-and-fuel allowance, end cleaning, tourist taxes, and optional add-ons like a skipper or hostess — are set by the operator and shown clearly before you book.
What's a security deposit?
A refundable amount (or an insurance waiver) the operator holds against damage, returned after the charter if all is well. The amount varies by boat and is shown in your booking documents.
Can I change or cancel?
Changes and cancellations follow the operator's policy for your booking — see our Cancellation & Refunds page. Because charter deadlines can be strict, we strongly recommend travel insurance.
What if something goes wrong on the charter?
The operator runs the charter and provides on-water support, but we're your first point of contact — reach out any time and we'll help you sort it out.
